The board is sharp this week and I woke up too late to pick the Panthers. That is going to make getting a win this week even tougher. Let’s see if we can find a side.
Texans @ Chiefs -3.5
The Texans come into this game riding high after their huge win against Atlanta last weekend. The Chiefs are coming off an unexpected home loss in prime time to the Colts. This is a classic buy low-sell high situation for me. The Chiefs would probably be favored by more points had the loss not happened in prime time. They are a much more formidable opponent than the Falcons are. Also they are getting Tyreek Hill back this week. I just don’t trust the Texans on the road here. The Chiefs have a pretty good pass defense this year and once they start building their lead and forcing their opponent into passing situations things can get very bleak. I see that happening here because the Texans don’t have the same type of offensive line that can bully the Chiefs defense like the Colts did last week. I see the Chiefs getting a lead early and often and feeding off that home crowd to cruise to a win. I like the Chiefs here
Eagles @ Vikings -3.5
Everything in my brain is saying to take the Eagles here but the line moving past 3 to 3.5 is scaring me. What am I not seeing in the Vikings that everyone is seeing? The Vikings are a run first team and the Eagles defense is ranked 4th against the run and their d-line is ranked 1st in adjusted line yards. Granted the Eagles defensive stats are coming against the 4th easiest schedule. The Vikings defense is ranked 4th in overall efficiency granted they have faced a pretty easy schedule of opponents also. The Eagles just seem to have had the Vikings number recently also. Even in their game last year, despite losing the Eagles outplayed the Vikings. The Vikings got an early defensive touchdown that ended up being the difference in the game. With all that said I am taking the Eagles. If there is a weakness in the Vikings defense it is against the pass and this is the best passing offense they will see all year. Also something about the Eagles playing in the same stadium where they won the Super Bowl a couple years ago feels like a homecoming. There will be opportunities for a lot of points here and I like the over as well.
49ers @ Rams -3
I’m going to make this one short and sweet because I don’t really like either side but I love the over. Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay both have high powered offenses and will be looking to show them off. I don’t belive the 49ers truly have the 2nd most efficient defense and today they will face their first tough offensive opponent. On a short weel mind you, where the Rams had extra time to prepare. I like over 50.
Chiefs -3.5 2 units
Eagles +3.5 1 unit
Eagles Vikings OVER 45 1 unit
49ers Rams OVER 50 2 units
