After a horrific night last night it is back to the drawing board for me. I’m still looking at NHL games. But if I lose again today I may retire from NHL. The NHL bets were meant to be a place holder during the NBA all star break. I don’t know the game as well but if I keep having success I will stick with it.
With that being said I love the Blackhawks tonight. I took them to beat the Red Wings the other day because they have been red hot. Now they face the Avalanche who they are tied in the standings with. The winner of this game would put themselves in the final wild card spot in the west. The Avalanche are on a little run o their own that includes their last game, a 7-1 win over Winnipeg who were leading the western conference at the time. Speaking of Winnipeg, I like them tonight in Vegas also. Coming off a 7-1 loss should provide extra motivation going into tonight’s game. They are still one of the better teams in the NHL. I think their recent slide and more specifically their last loss will motivate them to turn things around tonight.
The NBA slate tonight is a tough one. There is one team that stands out to me though and they are the San Antonio Spurs. They are playing the Raptors in Toronto and listed as 7.5 point underdogs. That line is way too inflated in my opinion. The reason why is similar to why I picked the Celtics yesterday. Gregg Popovich is maybe the best NBA coach of all time. Giving him a week to prepare for a game is deadly. Not to mention this will be DeMar Derozan’s first game back in Toronto after being traded. You know after the way that went down he will be especially motivated. Popovich knows that as well and I’m sure will have a game plan featuring a lot of Derozan. The coaching matchups in games like these are so important. This is Nick Nurse’s first time coming back from the All-Star break. He has no idea what a great coach like Greg Popovich has in store for him after a break like that. The Spurs will probably win this game outright. So I will sprinkle some on the money line as well.
Chicago Blackhawks +105
Winnipeg Jets +140
San Antonio Spurs +7.5
San Antonio Spurs +275
