Knicks @ Pistons -8.5 O/U206
These teams are coming off their game they played Tuesday night in the Garden where the Pistons got the win 105-92 and covered the 3.5 point spread. The Knicks were close for most of the game but never held a lead and the Pistons pulled away late. This was only the second game for the Knicks since DeAndre Jordan, Dennis Smith Jr. and Wesley Matthews joined the team. They are going through a transition phase and that showed early on the defensive side giving up 20 first half points to Blake Griffin. They were able to hold him to just 9 points in the second half as they pulled within 3 points on two separate occasions before the Mavs pulled away. I think the Knicks will keep this game closer than the last and maybe pull out a win. The Knicks were very active on the boards and their defense improved as the game went on. I think their play in that game will motivate them toward a victory tonight in Detroit.
Nuggets @ 76ers -4.5 O/U 229
The 76ers had the most active trade deadline. They acquired Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic from the Clippers. This has put immediate pressure on them to win the Eastern Conference. They welcome a Nuggets team on the last leg of a four game road trip. The Nuggets will be without Gary Harris and have Paul Milsap listed as questionable. The 76ers will be without JJ Reddick and have Joel Embiid listed as questionable. I see the Nuggets covering this game. The 76ers will need some time to gel together and will not be at their best right away. The Nuggets have been doing very well this year but they do not get much media attention. This line has a lot to do with the recent media attention the 76ers have had since the trade deadline. The Nuggets should cover this one easily.
