Golden State Warriors @ Houston Rockets -3 O/U 219
This will be Draymond Green’s first game back after being suspended one game for conduct detrimental to the team. The Warriors will also be without Steph Curry for this game. I still don’t see a scenario where they lose this game. The Rockets are on a two game win streak but they are not good this year. The loss of Trevor Ariza was huge because nobody else on that team plays any defense. The Warriors are much better than the Rockets in every statistical category. The Rockets are only 1-4 at home so there isn’t really a home court advantage. This line to me screams public perception. The Rockets that got the one seed last year were a much better team than this year’s version. I think the Warriors win this one outright and do so fairly easily.
Atlanta Hawks @ Denver Nuggets -13 O/U 222
I expect the nuggets to win this game in the paint and on the glass. The Nuggets are the best rebounding team in the league and the Hawks are among the leagues worst. The Hawks are also coming off a hard fought game in Golden State and now have to deal with the altitude in Denver. This is the perfect opportunity for the Nuggets to stop their 4 game losing streak. This should be an easy win for the Nuggets but I’m not sure I want to lay 13 points.
San Antonio Spurs @ LA Clipers -5.5 O/U 217
Both of these teams have been a bit of a surprise this year with the Clippers doing better than expected and the Spurs doing a bit worse. They are also coming off polar opposite games. The Clippers just beat the Warriors and the Spurs just lost to the Suns. This is the final game of a 3 game road trip for the Spurs and the first time they find themselves as the underdog. The Spurs have had their regular season struggles with young athletic teams and that is what we’ve seen on this road trip. That should not be an issue tonight and I see the Spurs getting the win here before going back home to play the Warriors on Sunday. I think the coaching matchup favors Gregg Popovich and the Spurs and I expect them to be very well prepared. It is extremely rare for the spurs to lose 3 games in a row in the Popovich era.
