Week 5 Late Game Picks

I’m writing this as the early gams go on. The Lions and Jets are up big but I need help from the Ravens or Bengals to insure a winning start.

Philadelphia Eagles -3

This is a tough pick for me because if the Vikings can start quick I do not trust the Eagles to come back. Although I do not see that being what happens today. The Vikings have struggled this year both offensively and defensively.  Their team has completely lost the identity they had last year as a run first defensive team. This year the Vikings are ranked 25th in defensive efficiency and dead last in rushing efficiency. The Eagles have sputtered out to a 2-2 start and have struggled a bit this year as well. Their offense got Carson Wentz back two weeks ago and Alshon Jeffrey came back last week. Their defense has done well and is ranked 8th in overall efficiency. They also have played much better at home than on the road. I see that trend continuing this week. The Eagles strength is still their defensive line and they should be able to take advantage of a struggling Vikings offensive line. I am just seeing a late report that Corey Clement will be playing for the Eagles today as well. He is a huge help to the depth of their backfield. Im nervous about Kirk Cousins and the Vikings receivers taking advantage of a struggling Eagles secondary but my heart of hearts say the Eagles win big here.

LA Rams -7.5

I am going to keep this one short and sweet because the Rams are so much better than the Seahawks. Even if this is the Seahawks Super Bowl you can’t ignore the Rams talent. The Seahawks defense has been much worse without Earl Thomas on the field and will be without him for the rest of the year. The Seahawks are not the same intimidating team they have been at home this year. This slide started last year as they have lost 4 of their last 6 overall home games including a 42-7l loss to the Rams last year. I think this game will be similar to that one. I see the Rams winning big here.

The Picks:

Eagles -3

Rams -7.5
