Week 4 Early Game Picks

This week is even tougher than last week. Other than my lock of the week good plays are hard to come by.

NY Jets @ Jacksonville Jaguars -7.5

The Jets travel to Jacksonville with their last game fresh in everyones minds. Last week the Jets lost to the Browns on Thursday night football which was the Browns first win in their last 20 games. The Jets have looked pretty lackluster for the last two weeks after their season opening blowout win against the Lions. It was clear that the Jets were fatigued at the end of their game last week as it was their second game in a row on a short week. One thing they have going for them this week is that they should be well rested with the extra time in between games. Also as we saw in week 1 the Jets do a much better job when they have more time to prepare for a game. The Jaguars had trouble moving the ball last week against a solid Titans defense and face another tough defense with the Jets this week. The Jaguars defense has been stellar so far but could be without Calais Campbell this week. His status should be monitored and even if he does play he may not be 100%. When you look at both of these teams overall efficiency numbers, they are very close with Jacksonville beating the Jets by a slim margin. Jacksonville has high expectations this year and the Jets have very low expectations so a lot of this line is due to public perception. The Jaguars offense will probably look better than they did last week but I still expect the Jets to keep this game close.

Detroit Lions @ Dallas Cowboys -3

This game was my lock of the week. Full details for this pick are located here.

I’ll have a couple more picks for the afternoon games but this is a tough week.
