The final game of the first NFL Sunday brings us a divisional rivalry with the Chicago Bears coming to Green Bay, Wisconsin to face the Packers. The Packers have Super Bowl expectations for the year with the return of QB Aaron Rodgers and find themselves favored by 7 points in this game. The Bears come in to the season with some optimism after trading for All-Pro DE Khalil Mack. Although Khalil Mack is a great player, the Raiders have finished near the bottom in defense last year. The Bears defensive line should compliment Mack better but there are still questions about their offense. The Bears have high hopes coming into this season for QB Michell Trubisky to improve following a promising rookie campaign last year. They have him surrounded with pretty good players in WR Allen Robinson and RBs Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. The Bears offense will be something to keep an eye on to see how well they do against a pretty good Green Bay Packers defense. I do not like the Packers enough to lay the 7 points but I do not trust the Bears yet to cover the spread. The total of this game is at 45.5 and dropping. People are coming in on the under because both of these teams have underrated defenses. There may be some pushback before kickoff with the Sunday night over almost always getting hit by people chasing but I will not be on the over or under for the full game. I think both teams will start slow against their rival and therefore I took the first half under. When I made the bet I got the total was at 24. Since then it has gone down to 23. The extra point there is huge for anyone looking to get the best of the number. With 24 you can allow 3 TDs and a FG and still push. That FG gives you a loss if the total is 23. I still like the number regardless as I think this game will start very slowly. I took the first half under and you should too.
Bears Packers 1H UNDER 23 (-120)
